It is close to QingMing Day(清明节)——Tomb-Sweeping Day, so recently people in Jiangsu, Zhejiang and Shanghai has the custom of eating Green Dumplings——Qingtuan(青团). The main ingredient in Qingtuan is Ay Tsao which dyed Qingtaun into Dark green color, meanwhile give it a special and strong Ay aroma. The locals add the fresh Ay Tsao juice into the sticky-rice flour and then make the wrap of Qingtuan.
时近清明,江浙沪一带都有食用青团的风俗,青团一般选取的野草主要是艾草。艾草做的清明果为深绿色,有股浓郁的艾香味。取当季的艾草做成新鲜绿汁液后,混入糯米团中蒸制而成。

艾草性味苦、辛、温,散寒除湿,温经止血。
Legendary story
At one Qingming Day of ancient China, Li Xiucheng and his soldiers were hidden away from the Manchu troops, but they didn't have any food and may have starved to death. One peasant helped them, that is, the peasant slipped on Ay Tsao on the way home, and he
